CYCLE

Tuition to CYCLE is offered in conjunction with our annual Youth Tour Essay Contest. It is open to all high school juniors, living in or attending school in the Cooperative's service area. Students are asked to write a 1200-1400 word essay on a topic provided by the Cooperative. Six finalists are chosen to come to the Cooperative and compete in a final judging, consisting of a written test and an interview with a panel of three judges.
Three top scoring finalists win a week long all expense paid trip to Washington, D.C. The three remaining finalists receive tuition to CYCLE. This conference was started in 2005 by Missouri's Electric Cooperatives. It teaches students more about the cooperative business model, giving them a firsthand taste of Missouri government, and allowing them to debate a bill on the House floor of the Capitol. First Class speakers, fun activities, and great entertainment is also included in the event.
The 2013 contest is now complete. Congratulations to Harrison Backer, home school; Jonathan Cuneio of New Bloomfield High School; and Nita Jones, home school. They were selected to attend the 2013 conference.
See more information about the conference at the Association of Missouri Electric Cooperative's website.
